SUBJECT:  1998 WEA ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Dear Members and Potential Members:

The deadline for submitting your paper(s) for participating in the 73rd Annual Conference of the Western Economic Association International is coming up very soon.  The 1998 WEA conference will be in Lake Tahoe, Nevada, from June 28 to July 2, 1998. Even though the official deadline of organized sessions in February 1, 1998, I can negotiate with the WEA for extending the deadline for a short period of time.  But  I would appreciate you e-mail me your willingness to participate as early as possible.

We would try to have 5 to 6 sessions organized through the CEANA, approximately the same number of sessions organized for the last year. All subjects are accepted.  You are more than welcome to organize your own session by getting three to four papers into the session.  I will try to get discussants for your session.  On benefit of submitting through the CEANA is that the submission fee ($70 for WEA members and $125 for non-members) is waived

Lake Tahoe is about 30 minutes flight or 3 1/2 hours drive from San Francisco.  It is the largest in-land lake in the US and is a well known resort for its beautiful scenery, summer sports, and casino excitements (or dismal). If there is enough demand, we can even organize a golf tournament for the CEANA participants.  It's perfect for a July 4 vacation for your and your family.  Hope to see you there.

Please send me your paper(s) or abstract(s) to my attention, preferably through e-mail:
