The Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica, Taiwan ROC is seeking to fill several research economist positions beginning August 1999. We will consider all qualified candidates in all areas and at all ranks. Junior candidates should have a Ph.D. by July 1999 as well as evidence of research promise. Candidates for senior positions should have a Ph.D. and an excellent research record. Candidates who speak Chinese are preferred.

The Institute of Economics, Academia Sinica, is the highest academic institution in Taiwan. It offers excellent research facilities and support, including paid leaves of absence for research and study abroad. Its research staff enjoys complete freedom when conducting research but does not have teaching obligations.

The deadline for application is March 31, 1999. Applications received before the deadline will be decided sequentially.
