At 10:00 AM (16:00 CET) on 17 February 1998 the International Relations Program of the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University held an ISDN video conference with the Department of Peace and Conflict Research at Uppsala University in Sweden on "Challenges to Global Goverance". The participants in the conference included Syracuse students who participated in the Seminar on Multilateral Peacekeeping, which was held in New York City from 4-9 January 1998, as well as students affiliated with the Department of Peace and Conflict Resolution at Uppsala University.

On 15 April 1998 the participants conducted a live text chat meeting on peacekeeping issues that were raised in the video conference in an Ask Eric virtual classroom that used Palace software. Electronic forum and e-mail exchanges will follow the text-chat meeting.
