Ines Mergel

Dr. Ines Mergel is Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration and International Affairs, and a Senior Research Associate in the Center for Technology and Information Policy, at Syracuse University's Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Professor Mergel's research focuses on the
institutionalization of innovative public management practices, especially the strategic, managerial, and administrative decisions that lead to the adoption of new technologies. She has published several books on these topics and her research appeared in leading public administration field journals, inlcuding Public Administration Review, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Public Management Review, American Review of Public Administration, Journal of Public Affairs Education, International Public Management Journal and Government Information Quarterly.

Ines Mergel regularly teaches the core class Public Organizations & Management and electives in the fields of digital government and networked governance, as well as and Executive Education classes focusing on the adoption of new technologies and open government.
