Ines Mergel

Assistant Professor of Public Administration at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University, NY.

 

She was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the Program on Networked Governance, Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University. She received a Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.) from the University of St. Gallen, Institute of Management, in Switzerland, where she studied Information Management. Ines studied Business Economics at the University of Kassel, Germany, and University of Leiden, The Netherlands, with a focus on Knowledge Management.

Ines' research focuses on informal social networks among public managers as well as the diffusion and adoption of new media, especially Web 2.0 and social networking applications in government as mechanisms for knowledge sharing.
