If a citation is preceded by *, then it is a "core" item, and everyone in the class should read it. It is also green.

If a citation is followed by #, then copies are available for purchase at Follett's Orange Bookstore in Marshall Square Mall (not the SU Bookstore).

If a citation is followed by +, then at least one copy can be found in "the box," in the foyer to Maxwell 405. Please borrow it briefly, and return it, so that others may use it.

If an item is followed by %, then it can be read online via Bird Library's electronic subscriptions. (Thanks for this information to Ms Widay)

Items preceded by "(o)" are recommended, especially if one is preparing for comprehensive exams, but may not be selected for reports. Such items typically offer a contrasting perspective to the immediately preceding item.

Items followed by a name in purple has been chosen for a report.

A few items are restricted to a certain category of students:

• (PhD) indicates that only PhD students may select the item (because it is useful preparation for comprehensive exams)

• (Law) means only jointly students in the College of Law may select the item

• (No Law) means students in the College of Law may not select the item.
