Teaching Cases

The cases on this page were written for an introductory undergraduate class on critical issues for the United States.  They are designed to provide background and to stimulate discussion on domestic social issues of national importance.  The cases support teaching in three broad topic areas: citizenship, public education, and economic inequality.  Many of the cases can be used to address aspects of all three of these policy areas. For additional cases go to Mary Lovely and John Yinger's teaching cases web page.
