Administration and Key Faculty

Thomas H. Dennison, Professor of Practice and Advisor for the HSMP Certificate program, earned a Ph.D. in Health systems Planning and Development from Penn State in 1987 and a Master's degree in Health Care Management from George Washington University in 1977. His research, teaching, and consulting interests include health systems planning and development, health administration, and governance and leadership, particularly related to home health, community-based and long-term care services.
Timothy M. Smeeding, Distinguished Professor of Economics and Public Administration, and co-Advisor for the HSMP Certificate program, earned a Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Wisconsin in 1975. His research and teaching interests include economics of public policy, especially social policy for at-risk populations; health care finance; poverty and income distribution; income transfers and tax policy; and public health policy. He is also Director of the Center for Policy Research.

Both professors have professional work, research, and teaching experience in the field of health care management, financing, and policy.
